Sixers Beat, a podcast started in 2016 dedicated to the Philadelphia 76ers, needed a brand identity that resonated with their core audience: tech savvy, podcast loving, and fiercely loyal young adult male fans. The goal was to create a logo that would be instantly recognizable across various streaming platforms.

The design process began with in-depth research on the 76ers, their fanbase, and similar podcasts. This research informed decisions on color palettes, logo concepts, and typography. The color scheme seamlessly integrated with the 76ers' iconic red and blue, ensuring visual consistency. The logo itself needed to be a clear symbol of a basketball-related podcast. Additionally, the text, "Sixers Beat," had to stand alone as a familiar and legible brand element.
Following several weeks of developing logo concepts, a handful of refined drafts were presented to the client. This iterative process involved meticulous discussions about color variations, font choices, and the relative size and placement of the logo elements. Both vertical and horizontal logo layouts ("lockups") were explored to ensure flexibility across various applications. This collaboration resulted in a set of vector-based logos that the client could seamlessly integrate into digital and print media.
The Sixers Beat podcast boasts thousands of listeners, and their branding is prominently displayed across their Facebook, X (Twitter), website, and popular podcast streaming platforms. The versatility of the design allows for the use of either the logo or the text "Sixers Beat" independently, offering further branding options. The impactful logo is still referenced as a rallying point for Sixers fans across platforms, solidifying the podcast's position as a leading voice in the Philadelphia basketball community. This successful podcast logo can also be found on the 76ers basketball newsletter site, "The Daily Six".
